| Today I will share a prayer that I pray for our own marriage and for those that are near and dear to me. Please use it. Is is from Ephesians 4 and 5 the Amplified version. I have left blanks so you can insert the names of you and your spouse or those you love. I have also put in both pronouns to make it easy to pray. Praying God's word is so powerful because he watches over His own Word to perform it.
Father, I pray that you would turn ______ heart toward _______'s I pray that I/they would not be self-righteous but humble in the righteousness of Christ with which you cover me. I pray that I/they would lay aside all bitterness and idignation and wrath (passion, rage, bad temper) and resentment (anger, animosity) and quarreling (brawling, clamor, contention) and slander (evil speaking, abusive or blasphemous language, with all malice (spite, ill will or baseness of any kind). I pray that I/they would become useful and helpful and kind to _______, tender-hearted (compassionate, understanding, loving hearted) forgiving ________ readily and freely as You Father, in Christ forgave them. I pray that we/they would become loving imitations of You Father, that we/they would copy You and follow Your example as well beloved children imitate their father. And that we/they would walk in love, esteeming and delighting in one another as Christ loved us/them and gave Himself up for us, a slain offering and sacrafice to You, Father, I pray that we will give ourselves and our wills up to You as a slain offering and that our sacrafice will be a sweet fragrance.
I pray that all immorality (sexual vice) and all impurity (of lustful, rich, wasteful living) or greediness will not even be named among us/them as is fitting among Your saints, Father God. I pray there will be no filthiness (obscenity, indecency) nor foolish and sinful (silly and corrupt) talk which are not fitting or becoming but only that we/they will voice our/their thankfulness to YOU!
I pray that NO ONE will delude or deceive us/them with empty excuses or groundless arguments for through these things comes Your wrath upon our/their disobedience and rebellion. I pray that as You state in Ephesians 5:14 that we/they would "Awake, O sleeper and arise from the dead and Christ shall sine, (make day dawn) upon us/them and give us/them LIGHT!" I pray Father, for renewal in our marriage, in Jesus name AMEN! |
